چکیده
The particle-tuned liquid damper (PTLD) can combine the functions of baffles and energy-dissipating materials, such as highly viscous liquids, by integrating particle dampers into a conventional tuned (TLD). However, particles distributed only at bottom container cannot drive motion water in middle layer to function effectively. Therefore, suspended (SPTLD) is proposed this study its effectiveness reliability are examined compared with TLD through shaking table tests. Based on experimental results, parametric analysis SPTLD further conducted investigate damping mechanism SPTLD, including number particles, excitations various amplitudes, use versus floating liquid. test results revealed that successfully controlled structural acceleration responses under seismic good reliability; peak response was reduced 67.4% RMS value 75.9%. In filled more effectively participate sloshing motion, superimposed effects involving collisions energy-dissipation mechanisms buoyancy hydraulic resistance lead an improvement vibration control performance. Furthermore, comparison (FPTLD) demonstrates better availability practical applications, especially for some slender structures limited plane space top floor.

Experimental Study on Using Uniform Tuned Liquid Column Damper for Structural Control of Buildings Resting on Loose Soil
In this study, through series of shaking table tests and statistical analysis, the efficiency of Uniform Tuned Liquid Column Damper (UTLCD) in structures resting on loose soils, considering soil-structure interaction was investigated. The soil beneath the structure is loose sandy soil. The Laminar Shear Box (LSB) as a soil container was adopted and the scaled form of the prototype structure nam...
متن کاملAn experimental investigation on a nanoporous carbon functionalized liquid damper
The behaviour of a p-xylene-based lyophobic nanoporous carbon system under high hydrostatic pressures is investigated. As the pressure is increased to a critical value, the nanopore surfaces between graphene layers are exposed to the liquid phase, leading to a considerable increase in solid–liquid interfacial energy. During unloading, defiltration does not occur until the pressure is much lower...
متن کاملearthquake vibration control of structures using tuned liquid dampers: experimental studies
earlier studies have shown conclusively that a tuned liquid damper (tld) is effective for controlling vibrations in structures subjected to narrow-banded wind excitations. a recent numerical study has shown that if the design parameters of a tld are properly set, this device could also be very effective for controlling structural vibration to broad-banded earthquake excitations. here the result...
متن کاملComparative Performance Study of Tuned Liquid Column Ball Damper for Excessive Liquid Displacement on Response Reduction of Structure
The tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) having a uniform cross-sectional tube of U-shaped, occupied with liquid is used as a vibrational response mitigation device. The tuned liquid column ball damper (TLCBD) is a modified TLCD, where, an immovable orifice, positioned at the middle part of the horizontal portion, is replaced by a metal ball. Different studies on the unconstrained optimization per...
متن کاملThe effect of time delay on control stability of an electromagnetic active tuned mass damper for vibration control
The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of time delays on the stability of a zero-placement position and velocity feedback law for a vibratory system comprising harmonic excitation equipped with an electromagnetic active tuned mass damper (ATMD). The purpose of the active control is broadening the vibration attenuation envelope of a primary mass to a higher frequency region identifie...
